A founding member of the MAC, Kathy co-created an outlet for promoting balance and quality in assessment practices as they support a comprehensive curriculum and instruction program. Twenty plus years of curriculum development led to framing professional development on topics such as sound classroom assessment practices, performance assessment, and grading and reporting practices. Kathy’s assessment mentors have included: Rick Stiggins, Jane Bailey, Carol Commodore and Ken O’Connor. Kathy currently represents the MAC on various MAISA committees, the MDE Accountability and Assessment Advisory, the MI School Testing Conference Planning Committee and the SBAC Digital Library Statewide Advisory and as project director for the MI Arts Education Instruction and Assessment Program . Kathy currently serves as president of the board and CEO of MAC.
